(7 May 2024,  Singapore) The new High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore,  H.E. Senaranath Dissanayake, paid an introductory courtesy call on Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig this morning at the Philippine Embassy.

During the meeting, Ambassador Macaraig and High Commissioner Dissanayake noted with satisfaction the progress of Philippines and Sri Lanka relations, which span 63 years this year. They also agreed that both countries could continue to work on their economic cooperation and people-to-people connectivity, and to build on the gains of the visit to Manila of Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe in 2022. 

Prior to his assumption as High Commissioner, Mr. Dissanayake served as Chief of Protocol in the Sri Lanka Foreign Service. He presented his credentials to Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on 27 February 2024. (END).
