(27 January 2023, Singapore ) Hailed as Cebu’s Chocolate Queen, Ms. Raquel Toquero-Choa, President, CEO and founder of The Chocolate Chamber (TCC), paid a courtesy call to CDA Emmanuel R. Fernandez on 27 January 2023 and engaged with the officers and Economic and Cultural Sections of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore through a Chocolate Break – an appreciation of Philippine chocolate and its distinct flavors which aims to feed a person’s mind and body with the goodness of chocolates.
Ms. Choa is in Singapore to bring the Philippine chocolate drinking tradition to a global audience. She is traveling in key areas around the world to discover potential sites for the expansion of The Chocolate Chamber, a cultural, artisanal chocolate brand from Cebu, Philippines.
Sikwate, Cebu’s version of hot chocolate, widely known as tsokolate de batirol made from tablea, is TCC’s core inspiration to make the Philippines be known as a cacao producing country which originally dates back from pre-hispanic era on the height of the Manila Galleon trade.
At present, TCC has three cafes in Cebu and Bohol. -(END)
