The Philippines participated in the 4th ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting (ADGMIN) and Related Meetings held in Singapore from 30 January to 2 February 2024. The Philippine Delegation was led by Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy. He was joined by Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo Macaraig, other DICT officials Undersecretary Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, Director Maria Victoria Castro from the National ICT Policy, Planning and Standards Bureau, and Cybersecurity Bureau’s Carlos Reyes, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Director Candido Faeldon, Director Imelda Walcien, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) OIC Director Cleo Dongga-as, and National Privacy Commission (NPC) Director Teresa Patula.
During the meetings, the Philippines underscored its dedication to fostering collaboration in cybersecurity, innovation-driven economies, citizen-centric governance, and digital inclusion. The delegation also had bilateral meetings with the Philippines’ key strategic partners to discuss strengthened international cooperation on cybersecurity, technology exchange programs and joint initiatives to address shared challenges in the global digital landscape.
During the 4th ADGMIN, the Philippines also turned over the chairmanship of the ADGMIN to Singapore, through its Minister for Communication and Information Josephine Teo.
Ambassador Macaraig hosted the Philippine delegation to a dinner at the Official Residence on 31 January 2024.
