
20 January 2017 – Guests were treated to a Filipino party atmosphere at the Philippines Night held at Shangri-la Hotel on 19 January 2017 at the sidelines of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2017.
Co-hosted by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), guests and prospective clients were treated to a musical showcase that had people dancing and enjoying the late-night function.
In her welcome address, DOT Secretary Wanda Corazon Tulfo-Teo highlighted the Philippines’ Chairmanship of the ASEAN this year and its hosting of the 65th Miss Universe beauty pageant as just some of the exciting events in 2017 that will further boost tourism in the country.

TPB Chief Operations Officer Cesar D. Montano performed two song numbers that got people excited and dancing.

Prior to the Philippines Night, Secretary Teo, together with her other ASEAN counterparts, joined Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during the opening gala of the ASEAN Tourism Forum at the Shangri-la Hotel on 18 January, where the campaign ASEAN@50 was officially launched.
The campaign, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the ASEAN this year, will feature the region’s 50 best festivals and 50 most unforgettable travel experiences.
