Skills Training Program provider invites Philippine Embassy officials to product presentation

Officials of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore on Sunday, 26 March 2017, witnessed the final product presentation of Filipino baking students of Master’s Training International (MTI) at the Orchard Plaza, Singapore. First Secretary and Consul Mersole J. Mellejor and Acting Labour Attaché Ramon Lamberto Pastrana joined Commercial Counsellor Glenn G. Peñaranda at the event at the invitation of Mr. Herminio Adorna, CEO. MTI is a multi-­disciplinary adult learning institution, that provides continuing education modules for household staff workers (HSWs) and other overseas Filipino workers in Singapore. It offers a wide range of modules in Practical Training in Health Support Assistant, Dressmaking and Sewing Program, Practical Entrepreneurship and Basic Financial Literacy, and Basic and Advance Baking meeting the needs of adult learners. A total of eight (8) groups of Filipino HSWs presented various pastries and desserts that they prepared for their final evaluation. Commercial Counsellor Peñaranda and Acting Labour Attaché Pastrana briefed the students on government programs to assist HSWs and their families in starting small- and medium-enterprises (SMEs) in the Philippines.
