(18 January 2023, Singapore) – The Director of MONO8, Gwen Bautista, a Filipino art gallery, paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in Singapore. Gwen is in Singapore for MONO8’s participation in the Singapore Art Week 2023 as an exhibitor at the S.E.A Focus 2023.
Founded in 2017, MONO8 is a Manila-based contemporary art space presenting mid-career and emerging artists from the Philippines and other parts of the world. MONO8 will be taking part in Art Trek 15 this year, the visual arts component of the inaugural Philippine Arts Festival.
Gwen was accompanied by colleagues from the culture and arts industry based in Manila and Singapore, namely, Koki Lee (stylized as Koki Lxx) or Francisco Lee, Eunice Lacaste and Maria Rosario “Rica” Estrada. Both Eunice and Rica will lend their skills and expertise to help the Philippine Embassy organize the Sentro Rizal Singapore library. Sentro Rizal aims to consolidate and sustain efforts to raise awareness and appreciation of Philippine art, culture, and language.
