(5 April 2023, Singapore) Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig met Minister for Health of Singapore, Mr. Ong Ye Kung, during his introductory call on the latter on 4 April 2023 at the Ministry of Health.
During the call, Ambassador Macaraig and Minister Ong discussed the Philippines’ and Singapore’s COVID-19 response and management and how both countries made health a priority for their citizens, especially at the height of the pandemic.
Ambassador Macaraig also expressed appreciation to the Government of Singapore for the immediate and generous assistance to the Philippines’ COVID-19 response as well as for taking care of Filipinos in Singapore during the pandemic. Minister Ong acknowledged the significant contributions and sacrifices of Filipino healthcare workers to Singapore’s overall efforts to curb the spread of the virus and treat patients.
Ambassador Macaraig and Minister Ong acknowledged the strong bilateral relations between the Philippines and Singapore and expressed hope for its continued growth and development in many key areas, including health. (END)
