15 December 2019- The Philippine Embassy headed by Ambassador Joseph del Mar Yap hosted the Filipino Community Christmas Party and Loboc Children’s Choir Concert at the Ambassador’s Residence. Two hundred fifty representatives of Filipino clubs and organizations joined the festivity.

Ambassador Yap reported to the Filipino Community the highlights of the Embassy’s accomplishments for 2019, specifically the following events commemorating the 50th anniversary of Philippines-Singapore relations: Forum on Franchising in the Philippines; Ambassadors Tour of Cebu and Bohol; SCCI Business Mission to the Philippines; Launch of Commemorative Stamp; Signing of Agreement for Loan of Philippine Eagles to the Wildlife Reserves Singapore; Bayanihan Walk; Philippine Food Festival at Mandarin Orchard; Up Madrigal Singers Concert at The Esplanade; Re-opening of the Alkaff Bridge with restored Pacita Abad Art; Planting of Narra Samplings in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park; Bayanihan Lecture at SMU; Art Trek 2019; Hibla Exhibit at NAFA; Photo Exhibition at the National Library; First Philippines-Singapore Business and Investment Summit; One East Asia Exhibit: New Dwan of Filipino Realism; Fullterton Lecture with Secretary Teodoro L. Loscin, Jr; Philippine Film Festival  at the National University of Singapore; Official Debut of Philippine Eagles at Jurong Bird Park; Signing of Donation Agreement between the Philippine Embassy and ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute; Christmas Caralling with the Loboc Children’s Choir and most importantly, the successful State Visit to the Philippines of President Halimah Yacob in September.

The highlight of the celebration was the Christmas concert by the Loboc Children’s Choir who serenaded the Filipino Community with heart warming Filipino Christmas songs.

The Loboc Children’s Choir was in Singapore from 13 to 15 December. Prior to their   performance at the Ambassador’s Residence, they performed at a corporate event hosted by Mandarin Orchard Hotel and a diplomatic reception culminating the celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Singapore on 14 December.

The celebration culminated with a festive salo-salo potluck of Filipino food and delicacies. END
