(12 September 2023, Singapore) The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, in collaboration with Singapore-based Filipino educational technologists Mr. Angelo Anthony Agujo and Ms. Charina Li Ong, conducted a training workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) entitled “AI for Productivity: Smarter AI for Work” on 09 September 2023, at the Embassy premises. Conducted in a hybrid set-up, the training brought together 34 personnel from various Embassy sections.
Aimed at exploring innovative ways to utilize AI in the conduct of diplomacy, consular and overseas Filipino (OF) support services, the attendees were introduced to cutting-edge AI tools and platforms, such as ChatGPT, Tome, Midjourney, Dreamstudio and Microsoft Sway. The training sought to equip participants with the skills required to leverage AI technologies effectively to enhance productivity and efficiency.
In his welcome remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig expressed the importance of understanding AI and its capabilities, it being “one of the most revolutionary fields of our time”. He reminded the participants to keep an open mind, and be circumspect in determining the extent and use of AI for the betterment of the Embassy’s delivery of its services.
The training workshop on AI demonstrates the Embassy’s proactive stance towards embracing technology to improve the delivery of its mandates. It highlights the Embassy’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements to deliver enhanced services to Filipinos in Singapore. (END)
