17 September 2019 – “Archipelago,” the second exhibition of Art Trek 13, was held at the chic interior design studio of Miaja Design Group on 4 September 2019 and featured four contemporary and internationally-acclaimed Filipino artists- Rosscapili, Larry Calderon, Allain Hablo and Gus Albor.
According to Miaja Gallery, “Archipelago” does not only pertain to the Philippines as a scattered group of islands with the same body of water, but also an analogy in “uniting a group of disparate objects into a single whole with the help of a common foundation or idea.” During the exhibit, Miaja Design studio was transformed into a workflow of art masterpieces which brought art and design together.
This is the second year of Miaja Gallery’s participation in Art Trek. Miaja Gallery is part of the Miaja Design Group which was founded by French interior designer, Isabelle Miaja. Miaja provides hospitality design solutions for luxury brand hotels and resorts in different countries, including the Philippines.
Art Trek, which is on its 13th year, is the centrepiece of the Philippine Embassy’s cultural diplomacy program and the only such program being regularly conducted by a Philippine Foreign Service Post. END
