The Philippine Embassy and the Commission on Election Office for Overseas Voting (COMELEC-OFOV) officially concluded the one-year overseas absentee voter (OAV) registration in Singapore with a program at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, 31 October 2015, at the Philippine chancery along Nassim Road, Singapore. Commissioner Arthur Lim and other officials of COMELEC and DFA graced the event. The program was highlighted by an open-forum with Filcom leaders in Singapore on observations about the conduct of OAV registration in Singapore as well issues and concerns for the forthcoming 2016 Philippines elections. During the program, Commissioner Lim and Minister and Consul General Victorio Mario M. Dimagiba Jr. expressed their gratitude to the Filcom in Singapore for their full support to the registration process that resulted in a high turnout of over 33,000 OAV applicants in the city-state for the current registration period. A total of 1,032 Filipino nationals applied for OAV on Sunday, the last day of the registration.
