The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, led by Chargé d’ Affaires Victorio Mario M. Dimagiba, Jr., commemorated the 119th Death Anniversary and Martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal on 30 December 2015 at the Philippine Chancery located at 20 Nassim Road.
The ceremony was attended by officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy and representatives of the Filipino community in Singapore.
The highlights of the ceremony were the rendition of the “Mi Ultimo Adios” by First Secretary and Consul J. Anthony Reyes, the wreath-laying ceremony by CDA Dimagiba at the sculpture of Dr. Jose Rizal and the breakfast salo-salo of lechon and tapsilog.
An exhibit of Rizal’s famous works was also displayed at the Chancery.
In previous years, the Embassy holds a simple wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal marker along the Singapore River fronting t he Asian Civilisations Museum since 2008.
