Advisory to Married Filipino Women Traveling to Singapore
The Embassy would like to inform the Filipino Community of the recent incidents at Singapore’s Immigration Checkpoints where some married Filipino women have been questioned for the alleged misdeclaration in the embarkation/disembarkation card.
To avoid this, the Embassy would like to remind our married kababayans who previously entered Singapore using their maiden names, to tick YES, in the embarkation/disembarkation card, the box opposite the question “Have you ever used a passport under a different name to enter Singapore?” The complete maiden name must also be indicated below the above selection.
In addition, married Filipino women who are now using their husband’s surnames are reminded to always bring a copy of their marriage contracts and their previous passports when traveling to Singapore.
False declaration in the embarkation/disembarkation card is a violation of Singapore’s Immigration Act that is punishable by a fine or imprisonment.
In the event of any problems encountered relating to this matter, our kababayans are requested to immediately request ICA for consular access.
Thank you.

Have you ever used a passport under a different name to enter Singapore?”
