The Philippine Bayanihan Society Singapore (PBSS) observed the 14th anniversary of its establishment with a thanksgiving party cum Christmas Party at the Qian Xi Restaurant, Civil Service Club Farrer Park on Sunday, 15 November 2015. The event was attended by members of PBSS headed by President Ranvir Kumar Singh, leaders and representatives of the Filipino community in Singapore as well as benefactors and friends of PBSS along with Deputy Director Jasmine Tan, Southeast Asia II Directorate of the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales and officers of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore and the attached agencies were also present. In his keynote speech, Ambassador Morales noted that since its establishment, PBSS has symbolized the strong bilateral relations between the Philippines and Singapore. He congratulated PBSS through the leadership of Ranvir Kumar Singh for a hugely successful year as shown by the number of projects that have been completed including, among others, the repainting of the PHL Bayanihan Center, repairs in the structure and also certain initiatives that were meant to generate more funds to further improve the center’s operations. He also thanked the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its steadfast support to the PBSS, which was jointly established by the governments of the Philippines and Singapore in 2001. He reiterated the Embassy’s continued support to the PBSS and encouraged potential sponsors and benefactors to do the same to enable PBSS to continue its mission.
