The Philippine Embassy in Singapore congratulates Filipino Chef Johanne Siy of Lolla as she joins the ranks of culinary luminaries after being named Asia’s Best Female Chef 2023, an annual award given by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. Chef Johanne, however, is no rookie in award-giving bodies as she was the recipient of Singapore’s World Gourmet Awards’ Female Chef of the Year in 2021.
Born in Dagupan City, Philippines, Chef Johanne was a corporate executive before venturing into the culinary industry.
Chef Johanne is the first Singapore-based chef to win the award which is decided based on the votes of “more than 300 restaurant industry experts in Asia.” Singapore comes full circle as it again plays host to the award ceremony on 28 March 2023, ten years after its launch.
Foodies can expect collaborations and dinner exclusives between 25-29 March 2023 as the city-state welcomes back to its shores the biggest names in Asia’s restaurant and food scene after a three-year hiatus. So, what’s cooking? (END)
