The Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales on Tuesday, 16 May 2017, joined the Philippine delegation and other foreign contingents at the opening of the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2017 at the Changi Exhibition Centre, Singapore. The Philippine delegation was headed by Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph Mercado, Flag Officer in Command (FOIC) of the Philippine Navy. Now on its 11th edition, IMDEX Asia is seen to be the Asia-Pacific’s premier international maritime defence show.  The biennial event this year coincided with the golden jubilee of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN50). The milestone celebration brought in some 50 ships from more than 21 navies for the inaugural international naval review. The BRP Gregorio del Pilar (FF15) represented the Philippine Navy in the event.
