(3 May 2023, Singapore) Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig hosted a welcome dinner for the Philippine Navy and Philippine Coast Guard delegations, led respectively by Vice Admiral Toribio D. Adaci Jr, Flag Officer In Command, and Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor N. Punzalan Jr., at the Official Residence on 2 May 2023.
The Philippine Navy and Coast Guard officials are in Singapore to participate in the 2023 International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (IMDEX), Asia’s leading naval and maritime defense event, which runs from 3 to 5 May 2023. IMDEX Asia provides a platform for the defense and maritime sectors in the region to foster engagements and to showcase their latest innovations.
Aside from the IMDEX Asia, the Philippine Navy ship BRP Antonio Luna (FF151), one of the Philippines’ most advanced missile frigates, will participate in the first ever ASEAN-India Maritime Exercises (AIME) from 2 to 8 May 2023. AIME will feature harbor and at-sea events aimed at enhancing interoperability and exchange of best practices among participating navies.
As part of its activities in Singapore, BRP Antonio Luna (FF151) will have an Open Ship for registered Filipino participants on 4 May 2023 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. END.
