PH EMBASSY IN SINGAPORE RESUMES IN-PERSON FLAG-RAISING CEREMONY, COMMEMORATES NATIONAL FLAG DAYS

PR-028-2022

(31 May 2022, Singapore) After more than two-years of holding the virtual flag-raising ceremony every Monday and flag-lowering ceremony every Friday due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on mass gathering, the Philippine Embassy in Singapore resumed its in-person flag-raising ceremony, on Monday, 30 May 2022, at the Embassy grounds.

The flag-raising ceremony, led by Ambassador Joseph del Mar Yap, was attended by all personnel of the Embassy and its attached agencies, as well as the Embassy’s labor and consular clients.

I am delighted to resume our flag-raising and flag-lowering ceremonies this week. For the past two and a half years, we were confined to holding these online and the lifting of COVID restrictions have allowed us to conduct these weekly activities in person once again. We hope that we will be able to carry on doing these in the coming months and years,” Ambassador Yap said.

The resumption of the in-person flag-raising ceremony was also one of the activities of the Embassy in commemoration of the National Flag Days from 28 May 2022 to 12 June 2022, pursuant to  Presidential Proclamation No. 374  and Executive Order No. 79. On these dates, all Filipinos are encouraged to display the Philippine flag in all offices, agencies and instruments of government, business establishments, schools, and private homes. (END).
