CHANGES IN THE HOUSING REQUIREMENTS FOR WORK PERMIT HOLDERS
The Philippine Embassy informs Filipinos working in Singapore of the following housing requirements for work permit holders:
- Foreign workers who have transferred to a new residence during their period of employment should inform their respective employers immediately, of the change in residential address;
- Once notified, the employers will physically check the residential address of the foreign worker to make sure that the new accommodation meets the housing requirements of the MOM. These housing requirements can be viewed at the MOM website, through the following URL: http://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/work-permit-for-foreign-worker/sector-specific-rules/housing-requirements
- For foreign workers who are residing in HDB flats, all employers are required to make sure that the workers are registered as subtenants in HDB’s subletting system and are staying in the flats before the addresses are registered in the Online Foreign Worker Address Service.
All Filipinos working in Singapore are advised to fully comply with the above requirements to avoid the cancellation of their work permits.
