

28 June 2021 – Ambassador Joseph del Mar Yap delivered the opening remarks to the fifty-seven (57) participants from the Legislative Budget Research and Monitoring Office of the Senate of the Philippines and Committee of Appropriations of the House of Representatives attending the E-course on Public Policy and Public Sector Leadership, a collaborative program of the Development Academy of the Philippines and the National University of Singapore – Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (DAP-LKYSPP) from 28 June to 02 July 2021.
Ambassador Yap also shared an overview of the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Singapore covering the areas of political, economic, science and cultural among others.
Ambassador Yap encouraged the participants to maximize the learning opportunities presented by the course, and to use the lessons learned for the betterment of the Philippines and the Filipino people. He noted that Singapore’s development history offers a host of lessons and experiences from which the Philippines could learn from.
The International Learning Course on Public Policy and Public Sector Leadership is one of the components of DAP’s Capability Building on Innovative Leadership for Legislative Staff (CBILLS) Program which was established in 2018.
