The DMW was selected from among the more than ninety (90) nominees for the said award, in recognition of its outstanding contributions to advancing innovation and digital transformation, significantly enhancing its services to its clients, particularly OFWs. The Digital Society Award recognition underscores DMW’s ongoing commitment in enhancing operations in line with the mandate from Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.  to streamline the Department’s processes and implement automated services, ensuring the prompt delivery of its assistance to OFWs.
