In celebration of the Philippine National Heritage Month this May, the Philippine Embassy, in collaboration with the National Library Board of Singapore (NLB), organized a storytelling session for children on 4 May 2019 at the children’s section of the Central Public Library.
Consul J. Anthony A. Reyes, Consul Gonaranao B. Musor, and Cultural Officer Sheila B. Bengtlars gave life to the following stories written by Filipina writer Marla Yotoko Chorengel: “Maksing and Mona”, “The First Cashew Nut”, and “Why the Sky is High”.
The storytelling session was attended by Filipino, Singaporean and other expat children, as well as the teachers, parents and students of HFSE International School, a Filipino-run school in Singapore.
The activity is also part of the year-long commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Philippines-Singapore bilateral relations.
