TPB CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER NOGRALES CALLS ON CDA FERNANDEZ, LAUDS EMBASSY’S EFFORTS IN PROMOTING PHILIPPINE TOURISM

19 April 2024, Singapore – Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i. Emmanuel R. Fernandez of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore received Philippine Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) officials, led by its Chief Operating Officer (COO) Ms. Maria Margarita M. Nograles, at the Philippine Embassy during the latter’s courtesy call on 17 April 2024.

 

An attached agency of the Department of Tourism, the TPB markets and promotes the Philippines as a world-class tourism and MICE destination, in strategic partnership with private and public stakeholders to deliver a unique high-value experience for visitors, significantly contributing to increased arrivals, receipts and investments in the Philippines.  

 

The TPB Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Department was in Singapore to participate in  the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Asia Pacific’s (APAC’s) “The Business of Events and The Meetings Show Asia Pacific” held at the Marina Bay Sands on 15 – 16 April 2024 and 17 – 18 April 2024, respectively, promoting the Philippines as an ideal destination for MICE and events.

 

During the call, COO Nograles  expressed appreciation for the Embassy’s assistance during the Bisita, Be My Guest (BBMG) campaign held on 23 March 2024 at the Hilton Hotel to encourage Overseas Filipinos (OFs) to invite their foreign friends and colleagues to visit the Philippines, thereby contributing  to making the Philippine tourism industry a major pillar of economic growth in the next years. 

 

CDA Fernandez congratulated TPB for  the Philippines’ recent recognition as the Sustainable Dive Destination of the Year during the Asia Dive Expo (ADEX), held from 12 to 14 April 2024 at the Suntec Exhibition and Convention Centre. Due to the accolades received by the Philippines as one of Asia’s best country destinations for tourism, the World Travel Awards will be held in Manila in September 2024.

 

Aside from these events, TPB will continue to engage  Singapore partners, stakeholders and travelers this year through the Go Philippines Travel Fair 2024 on 10-12 May 2024 at Marina Square and ITB Asia, Asia’s Leading Travel Trade Show, on 23-25 October 2024 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center.
