15 April 2024, Singapore – The Philippines was hailed as the Sustainable Dive Destination of the Year during the Opening Ceremony of the Asia Dive Expo (ADEX), held from 12 to 14 April 2024 at the Suntec Exhibition and Convention Centre in Singapore.

ADEX, the largest and longest-running dive expo in Asia, celebrated its 30th anniversary with its Pearl Jubilee Ocean Festival 2024 dedicated to a sustainable blue economy.

The event offered a platform for exhibitors, including dive operators, equipment manufacturers, and national tourism boards, to connect and present their technologies, diving destinations, and tour packages to the diving community.

The Philippine contingent at this year’s ADEX consisted of 16 dive exhibitors from various regions, presenting captivating dive tours and liveaboard packages.

Highlighting the Philippines as the ADEX’s esteemed country partner, the Philippine Pavilion, organized by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, showcased prominent diving destinations such as the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Apo Reef in Mindoro, the largest coral reef in the Philippines which is currently under consideration for UNESCO World Heritage Site; and Malapascua’s rich marine biodiversity and famed thresher sharks, among others

Demonstrating support and national pride, officials from the Philippine Embassy in Singapore visited the Philippine Pavilion at the ADEX. (END)
