Chancellor of James Cook University visits Philippine Embassy in Singapore

The Chancellor of James Cook University, Mr. Bill Tweddell, visited the Philippine Embassy in Singapore on Friday, 31 March 2017. Mr. Tweddell, who incidentally is a former Ambassador of Australia to the Philippines was warmly received by Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales. While at the Embassy, Mr. Tweddell mentioned how he enjoyed his stint in the Philippines as he underscored the strong bilateral ties between the Philippines and Singapore. He said the Philippines is a priority area of JCU. Currently, there are 11 Filipino students at the university’s Singapore campus and 27 in its base in Australia. Ambassador Morales thanked Mr. Tweddell for his commitment to promote Philippine-Australian relations during his time as Ambassador and currently as chancellor of JCU. Ambassador Morales joined the JCU graduation ceremony at the Singapore Marina Bay Sands on Saturday, 01 April 2017, at the invitation of Mr. Tweddell.
