(05 July 2023, Singapore) The Philippine Embassy in Singapore hosted a two-day exhibition of multi-awarded missionary visual artist Kristine Lim’s “Kuwento ng Alon” (As Told by the Waves) artwork collection entitled on 28 and 30 June 2023 at the Embassy’s VIP Area.
The ten-piece artwork collection “His Garden,” blossomed with a color palette exclusive to Singapore. Embedded in the masterpieces were some of the preserved healing plants of Singapore, symbolizing the restoration continuously gained from the challenges brought by the pandemic and other battles the world has emerged from, and a stronger connection of both countries’ cultures forged through the people’s deep sense of unity and camaraderie.
Ms. Lim presented her featured masterpiece “His Garden” in a simple ceremony to Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig, as a token of appreciation to the Embassy’s hosting of the exhibition. In support of the exhibition, Ambassador Macaraig welcomed the donation and opened the exhibit to the public for two days.
Supported by the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, the “Kuwento ng Alon” traveling exhibit aims to foster cultural exchange and showcase the artistic interpretation of the song composed by songwriter and producer Jonathan Manalo through a series of artwork and art installations interpreted by Ms. Kristine Lim. Prior to Singapore, the exhibit was held in Sydney, Australia and Tokyo. Japan. Tours to key cities in Asia, North America and Europe are being planned for the rest of the year. (END).
