(23 December 2021, Singapore) In a symbolic handover ceremony held on 22 December 2021, Chargé d’Affaires Adrian Bernie C. Candolada of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore received, on behalf of the Philippine Government, a full container load of hand sanitizers from Borden Eagle Group, a consumer healthcare manufacturing company based in Singapore.
The 20 ft. full container load of around 43,200 bottles of hand sanitizers will be donated to the Philippine Department of Health as part of Borden Eagle Group’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. It has previously donated containers of hand sanitizers to Indonesia in July 2021.
During the ceremony, which was held at the Borden Centre in Jalan Kalang, Singapore, Mr. Bill Foo, on behalf of Borden Group, presented the donation to CDA Candolada.
In accepting the donation, CDA Candolada expressed appreciation to the Borden Eagle Group, and shared that the hand sanitizers will be helpful in the Philippines’ COVID-19 response. He also conveyed that Singapore is a friend of the Philippines and its assistance to the country in the early days of the pandemic is a testament to the longstanding relations between the two countries.
Joining CDA Candolada during the ceremony were First Secretary and Consul Joyleen E. Santos and Commercial Counselor Atty. Carla Regina P. Grepo.
