Filipino-Australian receives Singapore’s Young Artist Award 2017

Ms. Yarra Ileto, a Filipino-Australian based in Singapore was one of four recepients of the prestigious Young Artist Awards of Singapore on 24 October 2017. Ms Ileto, daugther of noted Filipino author Rey Ileto, has lived in Singapore since 2002, and was recognized for her achievements in the field of Dance and Choreography.

The Young Artist Award was introduced in 1992 by the Singapore National Arts Council to encourage the development of young artistic talents in Singapore. It represents Singapore’s highest award for young art practitioners, aged 35 years and below in the year of the award, whose artistic achievements and commitment have distinguished them among their peers. The awards were presented in the presence of H.E. Halimah Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore.
