Filipino Tour Operators and Tourism Destinations Participated at the ITB Asia 2019

17 October 2019 – Filipino tour operators and tourism destinations participated as exhibitors at the ITB Asia 2019 held at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre on 16-18 October 2019. The delegation was headed by Department of Tourism-Tourism Promotions Board officer Monica May R. Sta Ana.

The exhibitors were tour operators and travel agencies (Adventure International Tours Inc, Annset Holidays Inc., Intas Destination Management Inc., Marsman Drysdale Travel Inc, Salton Travel and Tours Corporation and Shroff Travel), hotels and resorts (Altabriza Resort Boracay, Aqua Boracay Hotel & Resort, Astoria Hotels and Resorts, bai Hotel Cebu, Bayfront Hotel Cebu, Best Western Plus the Ivywall Hotel, Canvas Boutique Hotel, City of Dreams Manila, Grand Hyatt Manila, Hilton Manila, Joy-Nostalg Hotel and Suites Manila, Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark, Makati Diamond Residences, Misibis Bay, New World Manila Bay, Paradise Garden Boracay Resort & Convention Center, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila and Waterfront Hotels and Casinos) and Philippine Airlines.

ITB Asia is an annual international business-to-business trade show and convention for the travel industry where international exhibitors of Asia Pacific’s leading travel companies and emerging small and medium-sized enterprises meet with top international buyers from the MICE, leisure and corporate travel markets.

Singapore is the 9th among the top ten countries of origin of visitor arrivals to the Philippines in 2018. Since 2015, an average of 174,500 visitors from Singapore arrived yearly in the Philippines.

International tourist arrivals to the Philippines rose by 7.7% to 7.1 million visitors in 2018 and a total of 4,133,050 international tourists visited the Philippines, marking an 11.43 percent increase for the first half of 2019. The Department of Tourism is targeting 8.2 million tourist arrivals in 2019.

A large number of Filipino outbound tour operators – canvassing and hunting for value-for-money travel packages for the growing number of outbound Filipino travellers – also attended ITB Asia 2019. END
