The Philippine Embassy in Singapore sent its representatives to the friendly golf tournament organized by the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore at the newly-opened The Els Club in Desaru, Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia, on 15 February 2017. First Secretary and Consul Mersole J. Mellejor and Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col Aderito Navata teed off with the Heads of Mission and diplomats of the Embassy of Indonesia, High Commission of Malaysia, Royal Thai Embassy and the Embassy of Vietnam. Also in the line-up were the Non-Resident Ambassador of Singapore to Bahrain Zainul Abidin Rasheed, former High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore Dato Husni Zai Bin Yaacob as well as businessmen and golf enthusiasts led by Mr. Henry Lim of Aropak who was the main sponsor. The Philippine Embassy in Singapore will also organize a golf tournament as part of activities on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of ASEAN under the PHL chairmanship during the first half of 2017.
