AZKALS CALL ON WITH PH EMBASSY IN SINGAPORE

(17 December 2021, Singapore) – Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Joseph del Mar Yap and officers of the Embassy met the Philippine National Football Team,  the Azkals, when they paid a virtual courtesy call on the Embassy on Thursday, 16 December 2021.

The Azkals are in Singapore to compete in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2020, which runs from 5 December to 1 January 2022.

Ambassador Yap conveyed his appreciation to the Azkals for flying the Philippine flag high and for bringing pride to the Filipino community in Singapore who flocked to the National Stadium to watch their games.

The Azkals won one of their first three (3) games in the Suzuki Cup. They are slated to have their final game against Myanmar tomorrow, 18 December 2021, to determine their overall ranking for this season.
