PR-049-2022

(30 August 2022, Singapore) – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore attended the launch of the storytelling showcase entitled “Do You See Me?” on 7 August 2022 at the Great Hall of the Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Center.

To run until 31 August 2022, the event features personal stories of forty-three (43) migrant workers and nine (9) changemakers in Singapore, coming from eight (8) countries, including the Philippines, through portraits, videos, and self-expression.

During the launch, four (4) migrant workers from Philippines, Indonesia, India and Bangladesh shared their stories to bring visibility to the migrant community by seeing them through a different lens – that they are beyond their job roles. The storytelling session also aimed to show appreciation to changemakers, or those  who have been silently contributing to the migrant community. The afternoon was also filled with performances and cultural exchanges through games, food, dance, music and tea appreciation.

This project was a joint collaboration between IAMinVISIBLE and Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre (HYC), in partnership with various volunteer-run organizations in Singapore and with the support of the Majority Trust and National Integration Council.

IAMinVISIBLE is a social impact startup that aims to bring the inVISIBLE into VISIBLE – to support everyone on a self-discovery journey by uncovering personal stories towards the best version of themselves, personally and professionally.
