On 14 May 2017, the Philippine Embassy in Singapore joined the Mother’s Day Celebration of the Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training (FAST).
Ms. Jennifer Yeo, Chairperson of the law firm Yeo-Leong and Peh LLC and wife of former Singapore Foreign Minister George Yeo was the guest of honor.
During her talk, Ms. Yeo recognized the contribution of household service workers (HSWs) in maintaining the stability of almost 200,000 Singapore households. She also gave tips on how to promote smooth employer – employee relationships, citing her own experience where she received a lot of help from her HSW during a family crisis.
The Embassy was represented by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Laarni Zorayda S. Gandarosa and Welfare Officer Aniceta G. Cataran in the said event.
