(18 March 2024, Singapore) Philippine Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig received the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Singapore, H.E. Hong Jin-wook, in a courtesy call by the latter on 15 March 2024 at the Philippine Embassy.

Both Ambassadors noted that the year 2024 marks a milestone year in Philippines-Korea relations as they commemorate the 75th anniversary of their countries’  bilateral relations this year.

Discussions during the courtesy call highlighted the rapidly growing relations between the Philippines and Korea across various areas, including economic, defense and security, as well as cultural and  people-to-people exchanges. 

Ambassadors Macaraig and Hong also acknowledged the significant presence and contributions of their respective nationals in each other’s countries, and affirmed their commitment to continue to work together to further strengthen the ties between  the Philippines and Korea, through close coordination between the two Embassies.
