Officials of Taman Bacaan presents book on anti-terrorism to the Philippine Embassy in Singapore

On Wednesday, 22 March 2017, official of Taman Bacaan, headed by its president, Dato Abdul Halim bin Kader, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales and other officials of the Philippine Embassy at the Philippine chancery along Nassim Road. During the call, Dato Halim presented to Ambassador Morales a copy of the book “Inter-Agency Aftercare Group (ACG) – Fostering Social Reintegration and Building Community Resilience”. The book, co-edited by Dato Abdul and Mr. Zakir Hussain, shares the efforts of the ACG against religious extremism and radicalization in Singapore. The ACG was established on 18 January 2002 by the Malay Muslim Community Leaders from Yayasan Mendaki, Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), Taman Bacaan, Khadijah Mosque and An-Naem Mosque. In addition to his work with Tama Bacaan, Dato Abdul is also active in supporting Interfaith initiatives to combat terrorism and is a strong promoter of sports in his capacity as president of the Asian Separtakraw Federation and the Singapore Sepaktakraw Federation. He once served as secretary to former Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo.
