OMWA Officials Visit Singapore

The officials and staff from the Department of Foreign Affairs – Office of Migrant Workers Affairs (OMWA), headed by Assistant Secretary Reynaldo A. Catapang, were in Singapore from 26 to 29 August 2017, to look into the concerns of the Filipino migrants in the country.

The Embassy officers and staff and the delegation met with the Filipino community where they discussed assistance to nationals (ATN) issues and explored avenues for further cooperation in assisting the Filipino migrants. They also met with the Filipinos sheltered at the Migrant Workers and other Overseas Filipinos Resource Center (MWOFRC) who have ongoing labor and police cases, conducted a hospital visit, and met Filipinos with pressing ATN concerns.

The Embassy continues to provide appropriate ATN services to approximately 180,000 Filipinos in Singapore, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs.
