The Philippine Embassy in Singapore joined the global observance of the UN International Day of Peace with a symbolic exchange of peace messages between Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales and Youth Peace Ambassadors in front of the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal at the newly-launched Sentro Rizal Singapore on Wednesday, 20 September 2017. The activity was co-organized with the Metropolitan YMCA of Singapore through its Embassies of the World Project. In his message, Ambassador Morales stated that all peoples should come together and renew their commitment to pursue peace by celebrating commonalities, respecting each other’s rights and differences and working towards peace and harmony with one another. The Youth Peace Ambassadors returned the favour with a “Peace Recipe” written by an 11 year-old winner of a peace message writing competition organized by MYMCA.
Later in the evening, Minister and Consul General Victorio Mario M. Dimagiba Jr. represented the Philippine Embassy at the Charity Gala Dinner also organized by MYMCA to support its community services and charities through the Singapore Community Chest.
