16 May 2019– The Philippine Embassy in Singapore has officially designated ABS-CBN Corporation, through its subsidiary ABS-CBN Global Ltd, to be one of its official media TV partner for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Philippines-Singapore Bilateral Relations this year.
To highlight this year’s celebration, ABS-CBN Corporation brings its international musical event, “One Music X”, to Singapore—its first Asian leg–which will happen on 26 May 2019 at the SCAPE, The Playspace, in Orchard Link, Singapore.
“TFC’s One Music X Singapore concert will be an exciting event for Filipinos in Singapore and people who like good live music. This concert will be one of the various events that will bring together Filipinos in Singapore to celebrate and commemorate the upcoming anniversary of Philippine Independence on 12 June,” said Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Joseph Del Mar Yap.
Ambassador Yap further stated: “For the Singaporeans and other foreigners who will watch this concert, the experience of Filipino popular music will deepen their appreciation of our culture. As this year also marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Singapore, this concert will help enrich the cultural bonds between our two countries.”
“One Music X” showcases the multi-musical Filipino music, put together by the biggest brands in the Philippine music industry: record label Star Music, FM radio station MOR 101.9 For Life!, music channel Myx Philippines, OPM music portal One Music PH, and the global multiplatform media hub for Filipino news and entertainment — The Filipino Channel (TFC).
Delivering world-class performances are some of the notable Filipino music artists today: folk-pop band Ben & Ben; ballad-RnB-reggae singer Bugoy Drilon; Philippines’ Ultimate Performer Darren Espanto who recently was a guest performer in “Singer 2019”; and the Philippines’ Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan who joined last year’s “Singer 2018”; with a special performance of the up-and-coming pop singer-songwriter Jayda Avanzado.
“We at ABS-CBN is honored to be part in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Philippine-Singapore Bilateral Relations. We hope that through our musical event, ‘One Music X Singapore’, more people from different nationalities get a first-hand experience of Philippines’ rich musical culture and talent,” said ABS-CBN Global Country Manager for South Asia and Regional Marketing Head for Asia Pacific Maribel Hernaez.
