First Philippines-Singapore Business and Investment Summit

Summit participants comprised of business leaders, SMEs, multinational companies, investment management firms, chambers of commerce and the diplomatic corps

16 October 2019 – The First Philippines-Singapore Business and Investment Summit, a government-to-business forum promoting doing business and investing in the Philippines, organized by the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, was successfully held on 1 October 2019 at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore.

The Summit brought to Singapore a very high-powered team composed of Cabinet Secretaries and other high-level Philippine officials who presented on the macroeconomic, business, economic and investment conditions under the Administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte which are providing many excellent investment opportunities for foreign investors.

The speakers at the Summit were Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno, Secretary for Socioeconomic planning Ernesto Pernia, Secretary for Public Works and Highways Mark Villar, Secretary for Transportation Arthur Tugade, Presidential Adviser for Priority Programs Vivencio Dizon, Philippine Economic Zone Authority Director-General Charito Plaza, and Philippine Board of Investments Executive Director Corazon Halili-Dichosa.

The Summit was attended by over 210 participants from Singapore corporations, SMEs, multinational companies, investment firms, business organizations, chambers of commerce, and the diplomatic corps.

BDO Unibank was the principal sponsor of the event. The Summit was also supported by Enterprise Singapore, the Singapore Business Federation, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation, and the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

The Summit was an economic diplomacy initiative of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore and one of the major programmed events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-Singapore diplomatic relations. END
