23 February 2017 – The Department of Tourism (DOT) showcased the Philippines at the recently held Aviation Festival Asia last 21-22 February at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

According to Dr. Erwin F. Balane, Head of DOT’s Route Development Team, “The Philippines is the only travel destination featured in this event.” DOT was also Gold Sponsor of the festival.

Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales visited the DOT booth on the last day of the event. “I commend the DOT and the rest of the Philippine delegation in their sustained efforts to promote Philippine tourism in Singapore. May this redound to continued increase in tourist arrivals from Singapore,” Ambassador Morales said.

Aside from DOT, flag-carrier Philippine Airlines and Air Juan, whose air services fleet include seaplanes, turboprops, executive jets, and helicopters, also proudly represented the Philippines.

The Aviation Festival Asia consisted of a conference, where industry leaders and players met and shared ideas on the latest and most vital innovations that are changing the way full-service airlines, low cost carriers and airports are doing business, and an exhibition, where the latest in aviation innovation – from large technology companies down to the latest Asian start-ups – were showcased.
