On 03 February, the delegation had a briefing on Singapore’s clean energy policy at the Energy Market Authority, an agency under the Ministry of Trade & Industry that is similar to PH’s Energy Regulatory Commission as an industry regulator and developer, as well as power system operator.
Their study visit was capped by a meeting with Veolia Materials Recovery Facility, a French multinational company involved in waste management and recycling, and a brief tour of their facility.
This study visit is a follow-up to previous similar activities conducted in Japan and South Korea to gather best practices in the region and explore their applicability in the Philippine context.
Rep. Cojuangco expressed interest in visiting Singapore again to meet with other stakeholders in the country’s energy and waste management systems.
