Philippine Embassy Singapore holds activities in observance of “Buwan ng Sining”

The Philippine Embassy in Singapore undertook some activities to mark the “Buwan ng Sining” in February 2017. A banner announcing the month-long observance was displayed near the entrance of the Philippine chancery along Nassim Road to raise public awareness. On 25 February 2017, the Cultural/Community Relations Section of the Philippine Embassy organized a guided familiarization tour at the collection of Southeast Asian Art at the National Gallery of Singapore (NGS). The collection included famous works of world-renowned Philippine visual artists Juan Luna, Felix Resurrecion-Hidalgo and Fernando Amorsolo, among others. In his brief remarks at the start of the tour, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales, highlighted the importance of arts in promoting cultural understanding among peoples. He also thanked the NGS for making the arrangements for the familiarization tour. The visit at NGS coincided with the 31st anniversary of the EDSA I Revolution.
