The 2nd Bayanihan Walk was held at the Labrador Park, Singapore, on Sunday, 3 April 2016.
Organized by the PHL Bayanihan Society in Singapore (PBSS) in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy and a number of sponsors, the 3.88-kilometer walk was meant for the benefit of the PHL Bayanihan Centre to support its various activities.
The event drew in a good number of teams from Filipino community organizations in Singapore. Officials from the racial integration division of the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office were also on hand witness the event. Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales, together with officials and personnel of the Philippine Embassy and the attached agencies, participated in the walk.
In this brief remarks, Ambassador Morales congratulated the PBSS headed by President Ranvir Kumar Singh, the organizing committee, volunteers and participants for making the 2016 Bayanihan Walk a resounding success.
Ambassador Morales mentioned that more than being an avenue to build camaraderie and friendship, the walk also helps in building consciousness towards good health, which is very important in reducing stress in a fast-paced place like Singapore.
The Ambassador also reminded Filipino participants in the walk regarding the overseas voting for the 2016 PHL Elections, which will be held at the Philippine Embassy on 9 April to 9 May 2016.
