On Friday, 4 November 2016, the Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to Singapore His Excellency Kim Chol Nam called on Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales at the Philippine chancery in at 20 Nassim Road. Prior to his posting in Singapore, Ambassador Kim served, among others, as Counsellor at the DPRK Embassy in Bangkok and with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of DPRK in Pyongyang. During the call, Ambassador Morales and Ambassador Kim recognized the warm relations between the Philippines and DPRK. Ambassador Kim mentioned that his government appreciates the thrust of PHL in pursuing an independent foreign policy even as he expressed gratitude on PHL’s principled and fair position on issues related to DPRK. They also exchanged views on the common experiences and concerns and ways to further strengthen the interaction between their respective diplomatic missions in Singapore.
