FILIPINO CONTEMPORARY ART FEATURED AT S.E.A. FOCUS 2022

(21 January 2022, Singapore) The Philippine Embassy in Singapore is pleased to inform the Filipino community that contemporary artworks of Filipino artists and Philippine galleries are featured in the Singapore Art Week (SAW) which is running from 14 to 23 January 2022.

Now on its 10th edition, SAW celebrates this 2022 a decade of Singapore visual arts with over 130 events that can be accessed across the city-state and online, and feature new works and transnational collaborations. 

One of SAW’s events this year is S.E.A. Focus, a nine-day event from 15 to 23 January 2022, which showcases contemporary art from Southeast Asia. It aims to bring together a curated selection of some of the finest artists and galleries from across the region to foster a deeper appreciation of contemporary art and artists in Southeast Asia.As a catalyst of creativity, SAW 2022 continues to be a spotlight, launchpad, and venue for collaboration of the arts community in Singapore.

Its fourth edition this year offers a hybrid blend of art experience for collectors, artists, galleries and the public through either a virtual experience of the workshops and exhibits.  This event is led by STPI – Creative Workshop & Gallery, and supported by the National Arts Council, Singapore.

In support of Filipino global talent and creativity, the Embassy highly encourages kababayans to visit and view artworks of participating Filipino artists and galleries from the Philippines including Artinformal  (Robert Langenegger), Silverlens (Dina Gadia and Maria Taniguchi), The Drawing Room (Maria Cruz), and the Tropical Futures Institute in Cebu, which may be accessed through https://seafocus.sg/seaf-gallery/a-works-of-art-2022/; or an in-person visit at the venue at the Tanjong Pagar Distripark.
