The Philippines was one of the participating ASEAN countries in the Passion Arts Festival 2018: ASEAN Arts of Wonder which was held on 7 July 2018 at the Tiong Bahru Plaza.

The Philippine Embassy, together with other ASEAN embassies, showcased their respective unique cultures through their booth exhibits. The Embassy’s booth was among the favourite by the crowd, especially to the young children who admired the miniature Philippine jeepneys, dolls in their Philippine costumes, wooden carabaos and the sungka, a Philippine board game.

Filipino Community dance groups, Kultura Performing Arts and the Filipino Dance Club, awed the audience with their rendition of Aray Chavacano and Tinikling, respectively.

In conjunction with the ASEAN Chairmanship of Singapore this year, the annual Passion Arts Festival in July adopted the ASEAN Arts of Wonder which was jointly organized by Tanjong Pagar GRC and Radin Mas SMC. The celebration promotes appreciation among the various ASEAN countries.

The Guests-of-Honour for the Passion Arts Festival are Grassroots Advisers from Tanjong Pagar GRC and Radin Mas SMC – Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office; Ms Indranee Rajah, Senior Minister of State for Law and Finance;  Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong, Minister of State at the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Manpower & Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others.
