(19 December 2022, Singapore) The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducted a pilot implementation of PhilSys ID registration for overseas Filipinos in Singapore on 15, 16 and 18 December 2022. A total of 338 overseas Filipinos took part in the three-day exercise.
Prior to the roll-out, the PSA, led by Assistant National Statistician Marela Lovely Y. Andes, met with Embassy officials, led by Chargé d’ Affaires,a.i. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez and exchanged views on the full implementation of PhilSys ID registration in foreign service posts.
From 15 to 16 December 2022, the PSA invited clients with existing appointments at the Embassy’s new location at Level 16, Lobby B, TripleOne Somerset Building. On 18 December 2022, almost 200 overseas Filipinos flocked to 20 Nassim Road where the pilot implementation was conducted. The PSA brought to Singapore a team of seven (7) officials and technical personnel who assisted in the enrollment and encoding process.
PSA’s pilot registration in Singapore was aimed to gather inputs in the development of guidelines, plans and systems in the conduct of registration of overseas Filipinos (OFs), especially in countries such as Singapore, with large populations of OFs. (END)
