Philippine Embassy in Singapore Visits and Donates Books to the Singapore Management University (SMU)

08 March 2016. Philippine Ambassador Antonio A. Morales met with Professor Arnoud De Meyer, President of the Singapore Management University (SMU). During the meeting, Ambassador Morales conveyed his gratitude to Prof. De Meyer for SMU’s partnership with the Philippine Embassy including, among others, for hosting speaking engagements by Philippine officials. President Benigno S. Aquino III was warmly received by SMU on the occasion of his State Visit to Singapore in 2011.

Ambassador Morales donated the book “The Aquino Legacy: An Enduring Narrative” by Elfren Sicangco Cruz and Neni Sta. Romana Cruz and copies of the books entitled, EDSA and   Isang Harding Papel provided by the EDSA People Power Commission (EPPC) in observance of the 30th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.   As well as a copy of the book entitled, Calidad Humana: Sharing the Filipino Spirit.

After the meeting, Professor De Meyer showed a tour of the campus, especially the School of Economics, where the art collection of Philippine artist, Pacita Abad is prominently displayed. Incidentally, the venue for the launching of the 10th Philippine Art trek will be held at De Suantio Gallery located at the heart of SMU. 

Books on the 1986 People Power Revolution donated by the Philippine Embassy in Singapore to the Singapore Management University (SMU).
