The 2015 edition of the annual “Fiesta ng Bayan” was held on 12-13 September at Suntec City, Singapore. Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales was joined by other representatives of the Philippine Embassy and leaders of the Filipino community in the gracing the opening of the event. Started in 2013, FNB is intended help promote Philippine trade and tourism in Singapore.
Ambassador Morales recalled that FNB 2014 was the first Filipino community event that he attended upon his arrival to Singapore last year. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers headed by Ms. Marily Tjalsma for helping the Embassy promote the Philippines through the FNB platform. He said that FNB is a very laudable initiative that underscores the important contribution of the private sector in forging strong economic relations between the Philippines and Singapore and promote people-to-people relations between the two countries.
As has been its tradition, the FNB program was highlighted by a singing competition, the Sikatuna Fest – a presentation of traditional dances from different regions in the Philippines; and the Ecouture – an eco-friendly gown design competition.
