16 February 2023, Singapore – Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) Director General Joel Joseph S. Marciano Jr., together with the agency’s Chief of Space Business and Development, Mr. Fernando de Villa III, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig on 16 February 2023 at the Philippine Embassy.
The PhilSA officials were in Singapore to participate in the Global Space and Technology Convention (GSTC) 2023, Asia’s premier Space and Technology event bringing together the latest technology news and space technology updates, held from 15 to 16 February 2023.
During the courtesy call, Director General Marciano discussed the priorities, initiatives, and programs of the PhilSA as the Philippines continues to make its mark and contribute towards advancements on space science and technology (S&T) and its applications. He also conveyed the agency’s appreciation to the Department of Foreign Affairs for serving as a key partner in advancing international space cooperation.
PhilSA is the Philippines’ central government agency created under Republic Act No. 11363 or the Philippine Space Act, which is tasked to address all national issues and activities related to space S&T applications. Its mission is to promote and sustain a robust Philippine space ecosystem that adds and creates value in space for and from Filipinos and for the world.
